Dead Cupcake Carcasses

Dead Cupcake Carcasses….

That is what my friend Kris used to call them, and that was all that remained after 10 minutes of being home.

I normally don’t look through the many coupon books we receive in the mail, but just happenned to glance through one this past week and found this adorably enticing ad that was offering me a free cupcake – well, who wouldn’t want a free cupcake? Anyway, I kind of surprised myself as I was heading south on Hawthorne Boulevard that I would make a tiny confection my destinational focus for the moment – and twenty minutes away for that matter. I mean I might do that for chocolate, but for little cakes – this was a first. They made them sound so appealing though on their website (yes, I checked them out before making the trip), and thought it seemed definitely worth the ride, especially since the kids were having company after school – thought it would be a nice treat.

When I entered Baby Cakes Baking Company, I was greeted kindly by a friendly young woman who started to give me the lay of the land. She introduced me to both their cupcake selection and muffin offerings, and told me a bit about the fresh ingredients these baked-daily goodies were created with, and a little about the inspiration for this 4 month old venture. Then she offered me a free sample of the day - Espresso Cake with Mocha Chip Buttercream – oh my gosh, wow… is all I could say after tasting that…truly sublime… Then she carefully put together my six pack and my free cupcake - Rich Chocolate with Chocolate Mousse, and I was off.

All in all we sampled 5 different flavored cakes (cut them like a pie so we all could share) and they all were so amazingly delicious – rich, but not overly sweet, incredibly moist, and just really satisfying! Anyway, I think the favorite of the favorites was the Zesty Lemon with Meyer Lemon Buttercream, very complex, evolving taste, and a real wake up to the senses!

So go check out their website and explore their gallery at www.babycakesshop.com

Or better yet, drive 1 block south of PCH on Hawthorne Boulevard and try some of the samples – guaranteed you won’t be able to leave empty handed!

Monavie

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with
Marlene Snyder, a gregarious and kind-hearted independent representative from MonaVie – a superb, nutritional whole food beverage company.

After welcoming me into her home, she poured me a cordial glass of this delicious drink – formulated from a proprietary blend of 19 health-giving fruits from around the world. The main component of this vibrant, full-bodied beverage is the acai berry (pronounced AH-SCI-EE), found only in the Amazon Rain Forest of South America.

Purported to possessing 10 times the antioxidants of grapes and twice the antioxidants of blueberries, these Brazilian beauties are said to have the most nutritional value of any fruit on the planet. The other wonderfully fruity components of this blend are Acerola, Apricot, Aronia Berry, Banana, Bilberry, Blueberry, Camu Camu, Cranberry, Kiwi Fruit, Lychee, Nashi Pear, Pear, Passion Fruit, Pomegranate, Prunes, Purple Grapes, Wolfberry, and White Grapes.

Marlene shared some compelling information about her personal experiences with this transforming elixir while I sipped and listened. She also mentioned the potential business opportunity that was available. I found her presentation of the product to be low key, friendly and informative, and rich with the kind of personal accounts that invites me to want to learn more. After our meeting she graciously sent me on my way with a full bottle to test out for the week.

I drank the suggested one ounce of juice twice a day for the week, and I must say I felt a marked elevation in my energy. I also noticed a reduction of the lovely symptoms of heart burn I had been experiencing on a nightly basis. (I found that most interesting of all.) I shared some with my mother as well and she is a diabetic. She liked the taste but was concerned about drinking the juice. Doctors always tell her as a person with diabetes, she should stay away from juices. Always one to want to educate herself about what she puts in her body, she began by looking at the back label. Only 3 grams of sugar per serving. She was shocked, and especially with all of those different fruits. She decided she would investigate this acai berry further.

Whether you are interested in continuing your good health or reclaiming it, this product is something you might seriously want to look into.

Give Marlene a call or email her if that works better for you.
She will kindly answer all of your questions. (310) 991-2529,
