Carol Moreno – Therapeutic Massage & Spa Parties

Monday, April 14th, 2008

flowercardGreetings!

I’d like to introduce you to my friend Carol. This is Carol’s business card. She is exceptionally proficient at doing exactly what she states on this card. Carol does not do fluff massage. She has a finely skilled gift that intuits the location of pain and dysfunction, hones in on the source, and begins to successfully remedy the situation. She certainly has gotten me through some pretty painful times in my life and my career, and for that I am most grateful!

She offers her transformative massage sesssions and spa treatments in the most comfortable of atmospheres where she pays close attention to every conceivable detail. Her massage table is the most luxurious I have ever experienced – warm, soft, supportive and cozy. Her studio is beautifully decorated with serene restful colors, ambient lighting, stunning crystals (remember the post back in February called “An Illustrious Gathering of Rocks”?), and rich wooden furnishings. It is very inviting indeed.

Along with the above fabulous offerings, Carol has been organizing these fantastic spa parties at the location of your choice for the past several years. I recently had the opportunity to participate in one of these soirees, and although i was supplying Reflexology services so it was a work day for me, I had an absolute blast. It was fun, the people were lovely (hey, it’s a party, everyone must be in a great mood), and I was able to do the work I love. Everyone at the end of the party decided they needed to do this once a month, and I certainly look forward to the next time! The whole time Carol didn’t miss a beat, everything flowed beautifully, both from the client’s perspective and from a practitioner’s view point, and everyone involved just couldn’t be happier!

Carol has access to a variety of practitioners offering an enticing array of therapeutic modalities, in addition to the more typical spa party fare of nail care, facials and chair massage. Some of her most recent extravaganzas featured, hair and scalp treatments, body polishes, Thai Massage, Yoga classes, guided meditations, psychic readings, and the list goes on. You name it, she can pretty much make it happen (as long as it’s therapeutic, spa related, spiritual or enlightening.) She has organized parties for such occasions as reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, girls night out, and that list goes on as well.

So give her a call or shoot her an email, and she will gladly explore the options with you! You and your guests will be guaranteed an amazing and memorable time for all!

Citron Tea – Good For What Ails You

Citron teaReminder to self – be careful what you draw your attention to!

(YIKES! By the very virtue of this post I am doing it again – HUGHHH!!)
Anyway – about a month ago, I remember telling someone (and now in hindsight it may have been a bit cockily) “Oh, I never get sick, MAYBE one short cold a year, but it never lasts for very long….” HMMM…got to love how the universe works. So as I am sure you can surmise, I have been stuck with the pesky cold that is going around, on and off ever since.

The good news is my friend Seon Hee told me about this Citron Tea last time I was visiting her (and she happened to be sick), and told me she drinks it all day long when she gets a cold, and it fixes her up right quickly. (Although she didn’t really say it like that….)

So I finally had enough energy to go out and get some today, and as of the 3rd cup, I am starting to feel a bit better. Mind over matter? The placebo effect? Just the power of citrus and sugar? Hey, whatever the reason, I am up for whatever works, so I thought I should share it with you.

If you are in the South Bay, go to Market World, a fabulous Korean grocery on the southwest corner of Sepulveda and Maple in the fine city of Torrance. Or try to find it in a Korean grocery near you.

(Ps. Print quality represents my present state, my apologies. If you can’t see the label as clearly as I thought you would be able to, it says Citron Preserve on the box and Citron Tea on the Jar and it is manufactured in Korea from a company named Doowon Nonghyup)

Update: Okay, so it is a few hours after I started drinking this delicious “tea” – initially after the 3 cup I was feeling pretty good – throat/cold wise anyway, however, now I am feeling a bit nauseated, headachey, and woozey, like one usually feels after eating too much sugar, especially since I forgot to eat lunch. So just a word of caution – still love the product, but yet another lesson – Moderation is key with most things in life – and not too much sugar on an empty stomach!

MonaVie – Recipe For Life

Monavie

Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with
Marlene Snyder, a gregarious and kind-hearted independent representative from MonaVie – a superb, nutritional whole food beverage company.

After welcoming me into her home, she poured me a cordial glass of this delicious drink – formulated from a proprietary blend of 19 health-giving fruits from around the world. The main component of this vibrant, full-bodied beverage is the acai berry (pronounced AH-SCI-EE), found only in the Amazon Rain Forest of South America.

Purported to possessing 10 times the antioxidants of grapes and twice the antioxidants of blueberries, these Brazilian beauties are said to have the most nutritional value of any fruit on the planet. The other wonderfully fruity components of this blend are Acerola, Apricot, Aronia Berry, Banana, Bilberry, Blueberry, Camu Camu, Cranberry, Kiwi Fruit, Lychee, Nashi Pear, Pear, Passion Fruit, Pomegranate, Prunes, Purple Grapes, Wolfberry, and White Grapes.

Marlene shared some compelling information about her personal experiences with this transforming elixir while I sipped and listened. She also mentioned the potential business opportunity that was available. I found her presentation of the product to be low key, friendly and informative, and rich with the kind of personal accounts that invites me to want to learn more. After our meeting she graciously sent me on my way with a full bottle to test out for the week.

I drank the suggested one ounce of juice twice a day for the week, and I must say I felt a marked elevation in my energy. I also noticed a reduction of the lovely symptoms of heart burn I had been experiencing on a nightly basis. (I found that most interesting of all.) I shared some with my mother as well and she is a diabetic. She liked the taste but was concerned about drinking the juice. Doctors always tell her as a person with diabetes, she should stay away from juices. Always one to want to educate herself about what she puts in her body, she began by looking at the back label. Only 3 grams of sugar per serving. She was shocked, and especially with all of those different fruits. She decided she would investigate this acai berry further.

Whether you are interested in continuing your good health or reclaiming it, this product is something you might seriously want to look into.

Give Marlene a call or email her if that works better for you.
She will kindly answer all of your questions. (310) 991-2529,

Happy 2008!

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Hello everyone, and I wish you a new year filled with love, great adventure, good health and much happiness! I have been spending quite a bit of time over the past few days working on reviews of various kinds to give you some new things to peruse, so please scout around and see what piques your interest. Have an amazing rest of the first day of the new year!

Smile :-)

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

So, one day I got in my car to go do some errands. As I was pulling out of the driveway, I decided to do an experiment as I made my way around the neighborhood to make my various stops. My plan was to see how many people I could get to smile at me as I passed them along the street. I wasn’t giving them one of those mild mannered smiles either, it was the full ear to ear variety. The response was fabulous. From people walking their dogs, to gardeners mowing lawns, to the UPS guy, even to a man on scaffolding stuccoing a house, they all literally stopped, and then smiled back, and hugely, not a mere obligatory grin. They seemed happily surprised. It was beautiful. Such warmth. I was uplifted for the rest of the day!

Greetings!
