Three Very Effective, Natural Sleep Aids

Good Sleep Trio – Ahh, one of our best sellers from our line of natural body products. A beautiful little package with 3 emerald bottles inside – my salvation at 4 a.m. – I just take my pick, and fall back to sleep in no time. If I happen to remember to rub a couple of drops of these powerful essential oil blends between my wrists before bed, I’m golden and pretty much out for the whole night. Here are variations on those recipes. See if they work for you!
(Please see our page entitled “Precautions” before using essential oils or herbs)

Slumberland

  • 1/2 ounce of Carrier Oil
  • 3 drops of Neroli,
  • 2 drops of Lavender
  • 2 drops of Vetiver,
  • 1 drop of Valerian

(Avoid if Pregnant; Not to be used on children)

Quieting

  • 1/2 ounce Carrier Oil
  • 2 drops of Lavender
  • 1 drop of Coriander
  • 1 drop of Marjoram
  • 1 drop of Neroli

(Avoid if Preganant; Not to be used on children)

A & T’s Zzzz Blend

  • 1/2 ounce Carrier Oil
  • 3 drops of Lavender
  • 2 drops of Roman Chamomile
  • 2 drops of Mandarin
  • 1 drop of Neroli

(Citrus oils increase the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight, so don’t choose to nap in the sun after applying this!)

Drop the above pure essential oils into a carrier oil such as sweet sesame oil or apricot kernel oil, and store in a dark amber, cobalt, or emerald glass vial. Rub 1 or 2 drops between wrists before bed and let the oils do their work.

I have used all three of these sleeping oils for the past 4 years, and think they are fantastic. Not a night goes by that I don’t reach for one, either to put me to sleep initially, or when I wake up in the wee hours of the morning and can’t seem to get back to sleep. I put a few drops on my arms and rub them together and very soon I am off to sleep again. It’s great, especially for post menopausal women who find sleeping through the night is difficult. Give them some time and they will work, maybe not like a sleeping pill, but a gentle doze off. And isn’t that better than taking another pill ?
